Surprise… Happy Mother’s Day!

Today the blog is hijacked!

Just kidding! This is Katie Beth, Kelly’s daughter. We, meaning my sister and brothers and I, thought this post would be a fun surprise for our mom. The Young Kids

Mary Khris: We love you Momma! You always give your all and you never give up. Your hard work and positive attitude has been a continuing inspiration to me. Your gift of time in teaching, instructing, encouraging, and playing with my siblings and me has meant so much. Motherhood is no easy task, but not only do you do it well, you make it look easy! I know that whenever I need you, you will be there, because you always are.

When you got RA, I was sad, but didn’t know what to expect. But even as the struggle with RA has gotten harder, you continue to find ways to be a mom and teacher. Even while I’ve been at college, you have sent me care packages and supported me. Something I really admire you for is how you didn’t let RA win. When you got sick with rheumatoid arthritis, you used it as an opportunity to help other people and now are making a difference in lives, worldwide. My mom is pretty cool 😉 love, MaryKhristyne

Katie Beth: One thing you may know about my mother is that she never gives up. As an American girl, Susan B. Anthony is one of my heroes. She never gave up fighting her fight no matter what anyone else thought about it. She never hesitated to take up any opportunity to advance her cause. My mom is just like Susan. I am so proud of her. Happy Mother’s Day Momma! <3 I love you SO much, Katie Beth

Nicholas: You are the best Mom ever! You encourage me through my school, You drive me to and fro, You sew all my Boy Scout patches wherever I want even though it hurts you so much, but none of those compares to one of your hugs. I love the best mom ever!

Daniel: I love you because you are patient, loving and true. You know when to help and when to set me straight. You are understanding, wise, and kind. You are the best in the world and no one equals. Love, Daniel

Roo: I love you very much, Mommy. My Mommy loves me and is nice and fair. She says yes or no when I need it or not. She helps me a lot when I need it. My mommy is always there to give me the last love of the day. My Mommy is awesome. Love Roo

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms!

Smiles and tears for you, Kelly. I can easily relate to you and your children. (Have RA since 1995.) Inspired by their realization that you do not let RA define who you really are. Your education, support and sharing on the RA Warrior site have made a difference in my life for the better. Not alone anymore. You are a GIFT to the universe.
From one Mom to another, I wish you Love & Light. Nancy R.M. – FLorida

Thank you to each one of you! You, in return, are such an encouragement and source of pride for your Mom, and also encourage other Moms, and families and kids that are affected by RA.

RA doesn’t just affect the patient, but all of that patient’s loved ones as well. I have tried to be a good mom and minimize the impact RA has had on my husband’s and kids’ lives, although it requires adjustment of the whole family. So thank you , to each of you children, for what you do, to make your mom’s and each other’s lives a little easier.

The best RA med available can’t beat a hug from one’s kids. I hope you all remember that handy, little secret!

There is no better gift than the gift of your children’s words of love. That was a tear jerker. I only pray that my kids feel the same way about me as yours most certainly do about you. You are blessed beyond measure!

Kelly, your guidance and love make you a “mom” not only to your kids, but to so many others who get the benefit of your help! You have great kids, and we’re not surprised at all, and they have a great mom–and all of us have known that for a long time now!

Heart warming post! With such angelic kids, it’s no wonder that you could relate so well to all that I am going through, during this heavenly experience of being a mom. Sorry, a mom with RA.

At the cost of sounding very repetitive, here I go again: You’re making a huge difference in my life by putting up such valuable info on this site and getting us RA-ers to share our experiences. Go bless you and your adorable brood, Kelly. If God were to ever appear before me and grant a wish of curing just one person from this awful disease, I guess I’ll at least give a good thought to choosing you over me 🙂

This is such a delightful post and a wonderful Mothers Day gift for your mom and a blessing for us to witness. You are each such wonderful individuals who together make a fabulous family. May God Bless each of you (including you too Kelly of course). I have read countless times how proud your mom is of each of you (and will never grow tired of hearing that) and now I can witness myself the love and pride you have for your mom.
Each of you have a wonderful and unique gift to offer the world and each of you share your mom’s wonderful qualities. You are each a true delight.

    Hi Everyone,
I am new to the site. I have been coming for about a month to read about some of the same stuff that is happening to me. About 3 months ago something started attacking my joints; it started so quickly for me. I felt some pain in my hands for a while, and my knees, but nothing major. Suddenly, one day I couldn’t get out of bed; I couldn’t even move the covers off of me because my hands hurt so bad! Since than it has been pretty constant. I never know what pain or joint will be affected from day to day. Anyways, I just want to say hi and share 2 things, first, thank you Kelly for this wonderful site, and you are blessed with fantastic children! Second, my son sent me this poem on Mother’s Day. He did not write it; he got it from a friend. It brought tears to my eyes, and it brought me hope! Here it is…
    Rheumatoid Arthritis is so limited…
    It cannot cripple love.
    It cannot shatter hope.
    It cannot corrode faith.
    It cannot eat away peace.
    It cannot destroy confidence.
    It cannot kill friendship.
    It cannot shut out memories.
    It cannot silence courage.
    Nice meeting all of you
    Deb
    It cannot reduce eternal life.
    It cannot quench the Spirit.

Having had the pleasure of meeting Katie Beth at the Arthritis Introspective Gathering, I can truly say that you, Kelly, are an awesome MOM! Your daughter was a joy to talk to and obviously adores you. That in itself is a treasure. While your battle with arthritis wages on, I hope you take comfort in knowing that you have succeeded and have already changed the world by being a wonderful mother and giving the world five more wonderful human beings.

I first read this on my phone, which wouldn’t let me post a comment. I have to tell you, I sobbed reading this!!! Ok, so I’m way too empathetic to begin with; I admit that. BUT, your children are SO SWEET!!! I’m so happy that you have such a wonderful, loving family. It seems like so few families get along nowadays, and it makes my heart sing when I see a happy family. And for the kids to surprise you in this way… that is too cool!!! What a heartfelt, caring surprise. Way to go, Mom! 🙂 And family- thanks for sharing your love with the world. So much more is needed, keep it up!
