Your Rheumatoid Arthritis stories
Welcome to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Onset Story pages on RA Warrior. I will be featuring patients’ onset of Rheumatoid Arthritis stories here. This section of the RA Warrior website is very special. In these pages, you will not read about the science of Rheumatoid Arthritis. These pages are not about examining current treatments or studies or charts. They are even not about searching for coping strategies or cures for RA. These pages are only about us – people who live with RA – the RA’ers.
The onset stories reflect a variety of experiences and opinions. They have only been edited minimally for brevity or clarity. RA Warrior.com does not necessarily support every opinion or statement made by the authors.
The purpose of the onset of Rheumatoid Arthritis stories
The purpose of the Rheumatoid Arthritis story pages is to provide a place for RA’ers to share their stories about how their fight with Rheumatoid Arthritis began. There are 3 main reasons that I am creating these pages:
First, I found Rheumatoid Arthritis stories to be extremely helpful to me. I hope others will have the same experience.
Second, together, we will create a more accurate picture of Rheumatoid Arthritis for family members, doctors, care givers, and the general public. We will show the world what RA does when it attacks a person.
Third, I believe that some clues to earlier diagnosis and treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis lie in our stories. Perhaps the evidence we gather here will inspire scientists or doctors to be able to improve diagnosis or treatment for Rheumatoid Arthritis. Maybe we can even provide clues which will help lead to a cure for RA.
Submit your onset of Rheumatoid Arthritis story
Here are a few guidelines to follow if you would like to send me your onset story:
Name: Please state exactly how you want your name to appear. Pseudonyms are okay.
Story: Tell the story of the onset of your RA. Include the following: Which joints were affected first? What were your other symptoms? How were you diagnosed? Did you have another disease? I will edit if it is necessary; please try to stick to the facts as much as possible.
Length: If possible, keep it to about 1 or 2 pages, so that we can post a lot of stories.
Picture: I may be able to include a thumbnail photo. Send one if you like.
Send your onset story to me at this address: kelly @ rawarrior. com (without the spaces).
