You should contact a group directly for more information about meeting times and places. Some meet regularly for coffee and others are more or less active than that.
The benefits of Local Rheumatoid Arthritis support groups
Meeting other people with similar experiences is always helpful. However, with a disease like RA, it is even more valuable. Imagine not having to explain how much it hurts or why you can’t do something or why you’re not better yet. Meeting members of a local Rheumatoid Arthritis support group is almost like meeting relatives at a family reunion!

There is a cure for RA. I finally stopped listening to my rheumatologist and learn how to reverse this dibilitating disease. I’m still on my path to recovery, but I’m sure the day will come when I am RA free. I’ve been RA drug free for over a year already. Only very rarely do I take an Aspirin and it stops pain for hours. Aspirin & other pain killers used to not work for me at all, until after I detox my body enough. I was on Methotrexate, prednisone, plaquinil & Arcoxia (a german drug). The last drug I had was Golimumab simponi, an injection. This drug perhaps saved my life by making me so miserable that I had to look elsewhere for help and I found a nutritional therapy that really works. It’s called the Gerson Therapy. My joints are slowly healing and pain is greatly reduced and I can do work. I hope more people can get help from the gerson therapy.

I have recently (almost a year) been diagnosed with RA, I’m 24 and hoping to find some individuals my age to start a activity like swimming or yoga classes! I feel much more motivated with someone going with me (makes me accountable) but everyone I know is a little ahead of me strength wise and I feel like they feel held back when going to the gym with me. just looking for someone who understand the difficulties RA can cause!

I’m in Arizona, I’m an actress and I don’t have RA but my husband does as well as spinal stenosis. He is taking medication and has pain. 3 weeks ago we met with some friends at a restaurant and I don’t know why the conversation went about his pain but my friend Producer then talked about a new natural product that she is taking and how it was so efficient that it really changed her life! So even tough I’m usually sceptic but I trusted her, anything that could help him would be great! Well my husband started it, she said to try it for 3 months but that after a few weeks he will feel the difference! After 2 weeks he wasn’t feeling the need to take his pain medication every night but just once or twice a week! He is feeling better and his shoulders don’t bother him like they were. Partner has RA. Live in Durham, NC. She hasn’t been able to work for several years now and is on permanant disability. I’ve been looking for a support group for a while for her or both of us. It seems like such an isolating illness not just for her but for both of us. Anything in the area would be welcome.

Recently I have been diagnosed with RA and other than talking to my rheumatolist, I have no idea what to expect. I am disappointed and surprised that there are no national/local RA support groups. There are support groups and research groups for just about every other disease. Why not RA? I just want to hear from others just what they are doing and going through. I need some support. Thanks!
