I am one of the biggest advocates for Ra and also JRA. My daughter who is 5 now, was diagnosed at the tender young age of 18 months with JRA, a few years after my diagnosis in 2003. We both live with this disabling disease but we fight it day by day. We both are Humira Shooters, Dr dad give us our injections on the same night so we can hold hands and help eachother with the pain. Martina is doing so-so with her swelling and stiffness but as with everyone dealing with RA, she has her good days and bad. I do fairly well, I have since Feb 4, 2010, dropped 57 pounds which is really helping with my pain and stiffness. My family and I take any oportunity we can to tell everyone about our family’s dealings and to collect money for a cure. I have been my area’s walk chairman for 4 years now, I am on our Fall Family Campout committee, have chaired our area’s Bone Bash last fall, and we regularly attend the AJAO conferences. This is such a great group of people, we are all in tune to what eachother may be dealing with every day. We must hold strong and stick together to get our word out there… so many people do not know Kids Get Arthritis Too… this is so under publicised and unfair for the children. But please be happy that my family is out there as much as we possibly can telling the story of our family’s RA. I would love to get some more shirts to wear, we wear all of our walk shirts and other tees we have bought when we go places just as a conversation starter, to get the advocacy out a walking
thanks so much for the page and friendship for all of us to embrace..

I’m 38 and suffer from RA and Fibromyalgia and I just found this site. Love it! I will be refering it to my mom who has RA, Fibro, Lupus, and Mixed Connected Tissue Disease and my 17 year old brother who has JRA, Crohn’s Disease and other arthritis related illnesses. I want to let your followers know that The Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of The Arthritis Foundation is having their annual Juvenile Arthritis conference July 30th, 31st, and August 1st in Philly. You can register now for a discounted rate at . It’s great for families affected by arthritis. Come join us for 3 days of fun!

  • June 25, 2010 at 2:37 am

Kelly do you think you can add fannypacks to your merchandise? I’m going to spend a day at Camp JRA, The Arthritis Foundations Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter’s camp for kids that suffer from all kinds of arthritis. And I need something to carry my meds in. It’s going to be a long tough day and I don’t want the weight of a back pack slowing me down. It would be very helpful. I could also use it at the JA conference the end of July. Thanks, Jessamyn

  • June 26, 2010 at 2:07 pm

Hi Kelly! Hope your feeling well today. My feet and ankles are so swollen, they look and feel horrible. My mom took pictures so when I go to my Rheumatologist next month we can show him. I usually see him in early am before they are bad, so he never seems comcerned. Maybe the pictures will finally get his attention. What do you think? HA HA

I loved the t-shirts I bought so much, I am entering the contest. Hope you don’t think I am being greedy, they are a great advertising tool!

Hope your family is well also, will be seeing you on the posts! XO
